Emma Grace Estabrooks, JD

Emma Grace is an associate attorney at Malia and Goodwin. A west Knoxville native, Emma Grace graduated with honors in 2025 from the University of Tennessee Winston College of Law. Her undergraduate program, also at the University of Tennessee (UTK), focused on political science and philosophy, where she found bioethics and legal reasoning particularly fascinating and kindled in her an intent to pursue public service work that honors human dignity, free will, and autonomy. Emma Grace already had internalized her family’s dedication to giving back to community in different ways.

Emma Grace designed her law studies to explore transactional and public interest law and to learn more about fiduciary (agent) services as a part of estate planning. All of these interests coalesced and led her to become involved with the UTK Legal Clinic, a nonprofit firm inside the law school, and to connect with Sarah and Miranda as mentors.

Sarah and Miranda quickly recognized that Emma Grace is special. Her clever and caring nature shines brightly with folks she encounters, helping her stand out in a crowd of smart, capable law students and in other spheres. More modestly, Emma Grace describes herself as simply striving to communicate respect for and genuine interest in her professional and personal connections. She endeavors for folks to leave her presence feeling heard and appreciated, and so she listens intently to people’s experiences and stories with humility and compassion.

In her free time and to decompress, Emma Grace enjoys cuddling with her precious feline companions, reading novels (even though reality often is stranger than fiction), playing board games and cooking with her husband, hosting special celebrations for friends and family, and volunteering with the youth group at her church.
